The u-Care team arranged a visit from a local school to the National Robotarium. The visit was to encourage the students to experience university life and broaden their views on where the subjects they are currently studying can take them. The visit included a tour of the university facilities, a tour of the labs at the Robotarium, a talk about robotics and engineering at Heriot Watt and a workshop where they built and coded their own robots. The workshop was facilitated by the team at the National Robotarium.

The universities and courses available to those studying at secondary school are not always easily accessible by students from more deprived backgrounds and the hope of these visits and workshops is to encourage working relationships with our projects and universities to open conversations and opportunities for these students.
